Catalina Bents, the owner of Catan Pisco, will lead a cocktail-tasting event featuring 4 cocktails made with Catan Pisco. The 4 drinks will be the Catan Pisco Sour, Flower Power, Prohibition Pisco, and Pisco-tini. We will also be joined by Sheetal Bhagat of Spice Note Tequila, which will be featured in the Prohibition Pisco!

Catalina was born in Santiago, Chile and eventually moved to Bellflower, California with her family. Catalina says, "Though pisco did retail here in the states, it was always difficult to find, and premium pisco brands were never an option. We relied on my aunts and uncles’ visits from Chile to smuggle in the good stuff. Not only was pisco not widely accessible in the U.S. market, but the reality is, pisco had not been truly discovered by the American consumer. This had to change, and I knew I had to change it, so I did." In 2018, Catalina launched the first American pisco brand in the USA, and became the first female-owned pisco company in the history of Chile.

During the class, each attendee will make the "Prohibition Pisco" and the "Pisco-tini" cocktails and sample the "Flower Power" and the "Catan Pisco Sour" cocktails. We will also taste some of the individual ingredients that go into each cocktail while building these drinks throughout the class.
